In this class we will be making the short sleeve version, making it a lovely project for warmer weather and a great introduction to shirtmaking techniques.
This workshop is ideal for confident beginners and intermediate sewists who are ready to expand their garment-making skills and try some classic shirt construction in a friendly, supportive environment.
During the class, we’ll guide you step by step through the process of sewing the Este Shirt, covering key techniques such as constructing a collar , sewing a neat button placket, attaching sleeves, and finishing your shirt for a professional result. Along the way you’ll learn helpful tips and methods that can be applied to many future dressmaking projects.
The Este Shirt has a relaxed, wearable shape that works beautifully in a wide variety of fabrics, making it a versatile piece you’ll reach for again and again in your handmade wardrobe.
By the end of the workshop you’ll leave with your own handmade short-sleeve Este Shirt, along with the confidence and skills to take on more shirtmaking projects in the future.
As always at The Makers Studio, the atmosphere is relaxed and sociable , plenty of time to sew, learn new techniques, and enjoy making alongside other lovely creatives.
