Our Sewing Social is a relaxed, feel-good evening for makers who just want a bit of lovely, uninterrupted sewing time... with company.
This sewing session is NOT tutor led.
Bring along whatever you’re working on, pop the kettle on, and settle in for two unhurried hours in the studio sewing alongside other lovely people who get it. This isn’t a class and there’s no teaching plan to follow. It’s simply time and space to sew, chat, and enjoy making together.
Maybe you want to get properly stuck in at the machine, or maybe you’ve been saving up a big cutting job and fancy spreading out on our large cutting desks without being rushed,
This session is all about doing your sewing your way.
We provide the sewing machines, cutting tables, irons, and all the general studio bits. You just need to bring your project essentials like fabric, pattern, thread, and any favourite tools you like to use.
Come for the sewing, stay for the company.

Who This Session Is For
This session is ideal if you:

- Tackling those bigger cutting jobs with plenty of table space
Session Format
This is a relaxed, self-directed sewing session rather than a class.
There is no formal teaching, demonstrations, or structured project. The session simply provides time and space to sew alongside other makers in a friendly studio environment.
If you enjoy sewing socially and having dedicated sewing time away from home distractions, this session is perfect for you.
Preparation
There’s no formal preparation required for the Sewing Sewcial.
However, you may wish to arrive with a project already planned so you can make the most of your sewing time. Some participants like to bring cutting projects, while others bring garments or bags already in progress.
What to Bring
Please bring everything you need for the sewing project you plan to work on, including:
- Your fabric and pattern
- Thread suitable for your project
- Any specialist tools or notions you may require
- Any favourite sewing tools you like to use
Basic studio equipment is available, but it’s best to bring the materials specific to your project.
What is included
- Sewing machines, overlockers and cover stitch machines.
- Cutting tables, irons, and essential studio equipment
- Tea and coffee
The studio is set up so you can enjoy a comfortable and relaxed sewing environment while working on your own projects.
Class Size
Maximum of 6 participants, ensuring plenty of individual support and a relaxed studio atmosphere
Skill Level
The Sewing Sewcial is suitable for anyone comfortable using a sewing machine independently.
As this is not a taught class, participants should be able to work on their projects without step-by-step instruction.
