Teach at The Makers Studio
The Makers Studio is a welcoming creative space where people come together to learn, make, and share their love of craft.
Alongside our sewing classes and workshops, we are always excited to collaborate with talented tutors who would like to teach in our studio. If you run workshops in any creative discipline and enjoy sharing your skills in a friendly, supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
Our studio is based at 3 Buttermarket in Poundbury, Dorset, and is designed specifically for creative teaching. It offers a bright, inspiring setting with large work tables, good lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages learning and creativity.
We are particularly interested in tutors who teach:
• Sewing and garment making
• Pattern cutting or fitting
• Embroidery and hand stitching
• Quilting or patchwork
• Bag making or textile crafts
• Knitting or crochet
• Creative workshops such as visible mending, sashiko, or slow stitching
However, we are always open to new ideas. If you have a craft or creative skill you would love to share, we would be delighted to hear about it.
What we’re looking for
We love working with tutors who are passionate about their craft and enjoy creating a relaxed, encouraging learning environment. Our workshops are typically small and friendly, allowing students to get plenty of individual attention.
Interested in teaching with us?
Please get in touch and tell us a little about:
• The workshop or class you would like to teach
• The skill level it is aimed at (beginner, intermediate etc.)
• Approximate length of the workshop
• Any equipment or materials required
You can contact us at btpdmakersstudio@gmail.com and we will be happy to discuss possibilities.
We’re always excited to discover new crafts and meet passionate makers, and we’d love to hear your ideas.
