In this relaxed, small-group class you’ll learn the basics of using a sewing machine while making a simple tote bag to take home with you. We’ll guide you step-by-step through the process, helping you build confidence as you sew.
This workshop is designed to feel approachable and fun — no confusing jargon, no pressure and absolutely no previous experience needed.
By the end of the session you’ll not only leave with your finished tote bag, but also the confidence to start your sewing journey at home.

No previous sewing experience is required.
What you'll learn
During the workshop you will learn:
- How to thread a sewing machine
- How to wind and insert a bobbin
- Basic sewing machine functions and controls
- How to sew straight seams
- Turning corners neatly
- Understanding seam allowances
- Pinning, cutting and pressing fabric
- Simple seam finishing techniques
- How to construct a simple lined tote bag
You’ll leave with practical sewing skills you can build on for future projects.
