2 Day Jointed Teddy Bear Workshop

The two day workshop takes you through the construction of a five-jointed 24cm tall teddy bear.  The cost includes traditional mohair fabric and stuffing and all the joints, eyes and threads required to complete your bear.  You will get a printed pattern and instructions to take away.

During the days I'll take you through different types of materials used in teddy bear making and the different methods of making up bears.  We'll look at how different fabrics add texture and personality to your bear and how altering the stuffings and fabrics can give different feels and looks.  I'll discuss hand sewing and machine sewing and give tips along the way to personalise your bear.  

You can make your bear entirely by hand for which you'll use a back stitch, oversewing and a ladder stitch (I'll show you how each are done) or you can machine sew some of the pieces if you are able to already use a sewing machine. There will be sewing machines available to use if you want to machine sew.

This is a relaxed workshop, and you'll be supported whatever your experience or skills are.   Most people finish their bear in the two days, but if you don't, you'll have learned all the necessary techniques to be able to finish it at home.
